The First Backyard Ultra in the Middle East
The Bahrain Backyard Ultra Marathon 2026 makes history as the first Backyard Ultra race in the Middle East, bringing one of the world’s most iconic endurance formats to Bahrain.
Organised by Céra Sport, the event will take place on 15 February 2026 and is designed to offer amateur runners a unique and unforgettable ultra-endurance experience.
Inspired by the original concept created by Lazarus Lake, this unique ultramarathon challenges runners to complete a 6.706 km loop every hour, on the hour. There is no set finish distance — the race continues until only one runner remains. The last athlete to successfully complete a loop alone is crowned “Last One Standing.”
This competition is reserved exclusively for amateur athletes, male and female, aged 18 years and above. The event is designed to celebrate passion, determination, and mental resilience rather than professional rankings.
More than a race, the Bahrain Backyard Ultra is a true test of endurance, strategy, and self-discipline, combining friendly competition with a strong sense of community. It welcomes amateur runners from Bahrain, the Middle East, and beyond who are ready to push their limits in a unique format.
